Like Paul and Silas: Ethiopian Christian Teenagers’ Faith Unshaken after Beating and Arrest for Evangelizing
“This [suffering] is an honor for us. We should expect persecution. We are not afraid. We are singing and praying here in prison. It is an honor to be jailed for God’s Kingdom.”

“According to World Watch Monitor, the four teenagers—Eden, 15, Gifti and Mihiret, both 14, and Deborah, 18—were arrested earlier in October after distributing a Christian book in Amharic, Ethiopia’s main language, by a local author, entitled Let’s speak the truth in love: Answers to questions by Ahmed Deedat.
“The book answers questions about the Christian faith posed by the late South African Islamic scholar and former head of the Islamic Propagation Center International. Christians in Babile, around 550 km east of the capital Addis Ababa, decided to distribute it following cross-cultural evangelism training, according to WWM.
“Believing the book insulted Islam, local Muslims responded with outrage, attacking churches and threatening religious leaders. The teenagers were subsequently arrested by local police, and one of the girls, Eden, suffered a beating on her first night in prison.
“But according to WWM’s source, who was able to visit the girls in prison and speak to Eden and Deborah, their faith is unshaken. ‘This [suffering] is an honor for us. We should expect persecution. We are not afraid. We are singing and praying here in prison,’ Eden said. Deborah added, ‘It is an honor to be jailed for God’s Kingdom’…”
Oh, may we each have this kind of faith to overcome in the coming days!

Move over, solar: The next big renewable energy source could be at our feet
Date:October 20, 2016 Source:University of Wisconsin-Madison
“Flooring can be made from any number of sustainable materials, making it, generally, an eco-friendly feature in homes and businesses alike.
Now, flooring could be even more ‘green,’ thanks to an inexpensive, simple method that allows them to convert footsteps into usable electricity.
“The method puts to good use a common waste material: wood pulp. The pulp, which is already a common component of flooring, is partly made of cellulose nanofibers.
They’re tiny fibers that, when chemically treated, produce an electrical charge when they come into contact with untreated nanofibers.
“When the nanofibers are embedded within flooring, they’re able to produce electricity that can be harnessed to power lights or charge batteries.
“And because wood pulp is a cheap, abundant and renewable waste product of several industries, flooring that incorporates the new technology could be as affordable as conventional materials.” Read more here.
Three – Recipe
Easy Crockpot Lasagna
- 1 45 oz. jar of spaghetti sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups cottage cheese
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 pkg. lasagna noodles
- 1 egg
Cook ground beef and drain (can use ground turkey too). Add cooked meat (can make meatless too) and spaghetti sauce to a bowl and stir.
In a separate bowl combine shredded mozzarella cheese, ricotta, egg and cottage cheese. Mix these 3 ingredients well and set aside.
Pour spaghetti sauce mixture on the bottom of your crockpot just to cover the bottom and so noodles won’t stick.
Break lasagna noodles in half and line them up over the sauce so it creates a layer of noodles. Scoop some of the cheese mixture on top of the uncooked noodles, put another layer of spaghetti sauce mixture over that.
Repeat these steps until there is no more sauce mixture. Cook on low for about 4 hours. Add additional mozzarella cheese about 10 min. before serving, recover until melted and then serve! Yummy! From http://temeculablogs.com

‘The Boy Without a Brain’ stuns doctors after parents refuse abortion
“Doctors had made such a strong case that Noah would die at birth that the couple planned a funeral for their son before he was even born. But to their great joy, after Noah was born on March 6, 2012, he let out a cry.
“Noah was paralysed from the chest down, but to his parents that didn’t matter. All that mattered was that he was alive.
“The first thing we heard when he was born was him taking a breath and then crying, which was unbelievable,” recalled Shelly Wall.
“Surgery was performed on Noah’s back which had a large hole in it. He also had a drain placed in his head to clear the cerbrospinal fluid that was pressing on his brain. Noah was sent home, but would return to the hospital on numerous occassions due to medical complications. Still, the little boy continued to not only survive, but also to prove doctors wrong.”
